In pursuit of the state's efforts to protect citizens against electronic fraud, maintain public trust, and ensure the proper functioning of public services; and through follow-up on the outcomes of the premarital medical examination initiative launched by Egypt’s President to provide medical examination services, early detection of risk factors, and reduce divorce rates due to one spouse's lack of knowledge about the other's health, the Cybercrime Department of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) detected a website and online accounts mimicking the Initiative's Official Website. In coordination with officials at the Ministry of Health, a criminal gang of 19 individuals was uncovered. This gang deceived citizens, managed and operated these websites and accounts, lured those wishing to undergo these examinations, issued forged medical examination certificates, and misappropriated the examination fees.

Upon presentation to the Public Prosecution, an order was issued to arrest the suspects and search the premises where they managed their criminal activity. Forged documents purportedly issued by the Ministry of Health, seals attributed to governmental and private entities, electronic devices and printers used in committing the crime were found. This is in addition to sums of money and real estate purchase contracts obtained through their criminal activity, with an estimated value of approximately 26 million Egyptian Pounds.

ACA, hereby, emphasizes the importance of exercising caution and ensuring that any interaction should only be through official and accredited platforms. It also warns against being misled by deceptive advertisements and urges the public to promptly report any instances of online fraud to the relevant authorities.
