In line with Egypt's firm commitment to support international efforts that aim to promote integrity and prevent and combat corruption, a high-level delegation participated in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP11). It was held in Doha, Qatar, from December 15 to 19, 2025, with the participation of representatives of the States Parties to the Convention, as well as relevant regional and international organizations.
During his address, Minister Amr Adel, Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, emphasized the great importance Egypt attaches to preventing and combating corruption, considering it a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development. He reviewed Egypt's efforts during its presidency of the 9th session of the Conference, held in Sharm El-Sheikh in December 2021. This is in addition to follow-up on the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Declaration on strengthening international cooperation in preventing and combating corruption during crises and emergencies and recovery thereof. He affirmed Egypt's support for the discussions of the 11th session of the Conference on the use of modern technology and artificial intelligence in preventing and combating corruption, given the rapid technological advancements that present opportunities to enhance international cooperation in related fields, including asset recovery, combating money laundering, and transnational crimes. This contributes to preserving the resources of nations and supporting development efforts. He also congratulated the State of Qatar on assuming the presidency of the 11th session of the Conference, noting the importance of constructive cooperation for a better future for our countries.
On the sidelines of the session, several bilateral meetings were held with several chairpersons of counterpart agencies and regional and international organizations to discuss means of cooperation and experience exchange in areas of common interest to develop oversight work methods, build capacities and enhance integrity and transparency mechanisms.
