As part of the national efforts made  to counter the offences of withholding and monopolizing goods, raising prices and seizing public funds, the efforts of the Administrative Control Authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Supply, resulted in the detection of several violations in a packaging factory in one of the governorates, including the sale of about 900 tons of state-allocated sugar allocated in excess of the prescribed prices; tampering with the weight of the packages and not printing the price for a quantity of about 5 tons. The quantities were confiscated, and legal procedures are being completed.

ACA’s investigations also revealed that some mill owners in another governorate sold quantities of subsidized flour for their personal account, manipulated in the registration of the quantities produced and reduced the product quality in collusion with some employees in the competent Supply Directorate. Upon presentation of the incident before the Attorney General, a warrant was issued to detain the accused and referral to the Supreme State Security Prosecution, which initiated investigations and decided to detain them pending investigations.
