- The Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy draws on its expertise, calibers, and knowledge to ensure that the objectives of the trilateral initiative are met

As part of Egypt's pivotal role in the region in implementing its national strategy to combat illegal migration, the Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy (EACA), ACA’s educational body, organized a workshop to exchange knowledge and expertise in the field of combating illegal migration. This comes within the framework of the trilateral initiative to enhance Egyptian, African, and European cooperation in addressing the countries most affected by these crimes. The initiative, co-chaired by Egypt and France, has evolved into a cooperation platform for the countries linking the Horn of Africa and Europe.

The workshop, attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, embassies of some African countries, EU countries, and a number of international institutions, laid out Egypt’s efforts in the fight against illegal migration and human trafficking, which includes mandating the ACA to address these crimes in accordance with the law on its establishment, amended by Law No. 207 of 2017. Identifying the linkage between illegal migration and human trafficking on the one hand, and the fight against corruption and money laundering on the other, the crimes of human trafficking and illegal migration came to fall within the jurisdiction of the Administrative Control Authority that demonstrated its competence in this regard. 

It has been stressed that The Administrative Control Authority is keen on strengthening partnerships and the exchange of expertise with African and European countries in light of the initiative as the cornerstone of the Euro-African dialog on illegal migration and human trafficking. The Administrative Control Authority and the Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy pledge to provide expertise, knowledge, and calibers needed to propel the objectives of the initiative forward. 

The workshop comes as part of the EACA’s strategy to train and qualify Egyptian and African citizens across sundry areas, namely preventing and combating corruption as well as cross-border crimes. This, as well as transferring and exchanging quality educational, scientific, and training services to the Egyptian, regional and international community, using up-to-date methods and techniques.
