States Parties reviewed best practices and challenges in ensuring effective cooperation between local anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies
Day two of the 13th session of the Implementation Review Group and the 13th session of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Prevention of Corruption, held in Vienna, kicked off under the chairmanship of Minister Hassan AbdelShafi Ahmed, Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority ,President of the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (COSP9).
Conversations included two panel discussions to review the efforts of different States in addressing two high-priority topics: "Best practices and challenges in ensuring effective cooperation between local anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies", and "Bribery of foreign public officials and officials in public international organizations."
Efforts by Italy, Peru, Korea and Angola in relation to criminalization and law enforcement were reviewed through the representatives of the four States, the Deputy Prosecutor of Italy; Head of the Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) in Peru; Director of the International Cooperation Division at the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Korea; and the Angolan Coordinator for the review of the UNCAC.
