Within the framework of developing the work systems of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) to keep pace with electronic and transnational crimes, investigations revealed, in coordination with an international security agency, the identification of a hacker of social media accounts in one of the Delta governorates. The hacker managed to hack the personal accounts of more than 100 minor girls of Egyptian and foreign nationalities on social media sites. He used their private photos and threatened to publish these photos on the Internet. He received money transfers in different currencies from the victims. Legal measures were taken against him in coordination with the Public Prosecution. He was accused of human trafficking, sexual abuse and extortion. Upon referral to the Criminal Court, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of 200 thousand pounds.
The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) urges citizens to be careful not to be led astray by fraudulent operations over the Internet and to communicate with unknown people, as well as to quickly report to the relevant authorities in the event of being exposed to similar crimes.
