• The Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy enhanced the students’ skills and fostered their knowledge across an array of fields relevant to preventing and combating corruption

The ACA’s Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy (EACA) held the graduation ceremony for students who successfully completed the Diploma programme in Governance and Anti-Corruption at EACA’s headquarters. The ceremony witnessed the presence of H.E. Minister Hassan AbdelShafi Ahmed, Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority; the Deputy head of the ACA; The Authority’s board members; the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University; EACA’s faculty members; and students.

 The Diploma is in line with the Government of Egypt’s effort to edify the youth with top-notch training in the fields of governance and combating corruption. 21 students from a variety of fields were enrolled in the program that lasted from February 1st, 2021 to January 31, 2022, at the headquarters of the Academy.

In his speech, the Minister thanked Dr. Mahmoud Al-Said, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at Cairo University, as well as the Academy’s faculty members for their unremitting efforts to deliver the programme. H.E. added that he is looking forward to future programs that qualify for various academic degrees in light of the directives of President AbdelFattah El-Sisi to bolster the implementation of governance mechanisms to monitor performance in public offices and prevent corruption. He also commended the students’ academic diligence and constructive interaction with their peers and with their instructors.

The Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy has ensured that graduates are attuned to a sundry of subjects, namely Institutional Economy; Legislative and Institutional Framework for Combating Corruption; Strategic Management; Information Systems Management and Anti-Corruption; Economic Policies; Human Resources Management; Research Methodology; Organizational Behavior; Public Policy; Social Marketing; and Economics of Finance.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mohamed Salama, Under Secretary and the Director of the Egyptian Anti-Corruption, reviewed the programme and presented a film documenting the programme.

Ghada Ali, a member of the Parliament, delivered a speech on behalf of the diploma students, in which she praised the pivotal role of the Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy and faculty in developing the Diploma in Governance and Anti-Corruption. She further lauded the Administrative Control Authority for investing in the programme to further boost the students’ intake of information on many issues pertaining to the government and the means to tackle them.

The Diploma in Governance and Anti-Corruption is an academic degree that qualifies for a Master's degree in Governance and Anti-Corruption. It is conducted in cooperation with the Egyptian Anti-Corruption Academy and the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University.
