The Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority discusses with the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime the implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh Declaration on Combating Corruption in Times of Crisis
The sessions of the thirteenth session of the Implementation Mechanism Review Working Group and the thirteenth session of the Open-ended Governmental Working Group on Corruption Prevention were held in Vienna under the chairmanship of Minister Hassan Abdel Shafi Ahmed, Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority and President of the Ninth Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, during the period from 13-17 June 2022,
During the five days, the mechanism for exchanging information, practices and experiences gained in the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, and discussions on issues of encouraging the use of information and communication technology for the implementation of the Convention, were discussed, and the outcomes of the special session of the General Assembly on challenges and measures to prevent and combat corruption were reviewed. and strengthening international cooperation
During the sessions, challenges and good practices in the areas of awareness, education, training and research to prevent corruption in some countries were reviewed.
The participating Egyptian delegation presents Egypt's efforts in the field of awareness and training with regard to preventing and combating corruption, in light of the national anti-corruption strategy implemented by the Administrative Control Authority in coordination with the concerned authorities .
On the sidelines of the sessions, Minister Hassan Abdel Shafi Ahmed, head of the Administrative Control Authority, and Dr. Ghada Wali, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime met, where they discussed existing and future cooperation projects between the United Nations and the Administrative Control Authority in the field of preventing and combating corruption at the national, regional and international levels. As well as discussing the results of the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh in December 2021 under the chairmanship of the Minister, and with the participation of representatives of more than 150 countries, the most important of which was the Sharm El-Sheikh Declaration on Combating Corruption in Times of Crisis and the Action Plan that was prepared for its implementation

The closing session ended with the adoption of the reports of the Implementation Mechanism Review Working Group and the Open-ended Governmental Working Group on Preventing Corruption in their thirteenth session.
